The 9th Mississippi Cavalry Camp No. 1748, Sons of Confederate Veterans, is strictly a patriotic, historical, educational and benevolent organization that maintains a nonpolitical and nonsectarian purpose and mission. Discussion of matters that pertain to a political party, whether identified specifically, or by implication, is prohibited.
Camp meetings are held the Second Thursday of the month at the Lucedale Library at 7pm. Meetings typically consist of a pledge of allegiance to the flags of the United States of America, the state of Mississippi, and the Confederacy. There is also a business portion of the meeting to discuss events and projects. Occasionally a presentation on a subject relevant to the War or our ancestors will be given by either a camp member or visitor.
